Life Update

In the last few months my life has changed drastically. To start with, on the 31st of May I became an official adult. I turned the grand old age of 18 and of course I celebrated by getting really drunk with all my family and friends whilst dressed and the Queen of Hearts, because if I can't wear a cape and a crown on at my 18th birthday party when can I?!

Another was the very stressful and emotion decision not to go to university. After looking at various different uni's at the end of my first year at college I thought it was for me. Unfortunately I didn't get as good of a grade at AS level in the subject I wanted to study at uni. So I began the search into other courses, still unsure of what I wanted to do in life. I have never been one of those people that has known what they have wanted to do from the age of 10 and stuck with it. However my mum had been. Her dream was to be a nurse and she achieved her dream and became one of the higher nurse working at a trust that spans three hospitals.

After many hours of trailing through UCAS and being nagged by my tutor at college to start my personal statement, I stumbled across and foundation degree that looked interesting, hands on and most importantly different to everything else; Live Events Production. In short, it was the technical and managerial side of working backstage at concert, festivals and well, live events. However after applying, going for open days and interviews, I was offered a condition place, so essentially if I got the grades I needed in my A levels I was in. Great! Only it wasn't. The longer I spent at college, working part time and being left alone with my own thoughts, I was becoming more aware that I was done with education. My time being sat in a lesson was coming to an end and that I would rather be earning money to finance the things I really wanted to be doing in life. Moving out into my own place, becoming more independent and my biggest dream; to explore the world with my camera. Luckily for me, my parents and the rest of my family were all very supportive with my decision not to go to uni.

Telling my parents came through lots of tears from me and a little help from my big sister. But honestly once I had told them, it was the biggest weight lifted of my shoulders and I felt like the next chapter of my life can start. I have only last exam to sit on 19th of June then I will be done with college forever. I have made some of the greatest friends whilst at college and had some great memories and don't regret that time in my life. However I'm glad that it is over and I can begin the rest of my life and I hope to bring you along with me.

How I clean my makeup brushes.

Hey. As you can probably tell, I've been struggling to post anything on this blog whether it be because I've had no time or because I've been having a hard time coming up with ideas to write about. So I though while everything was out and ready, I'd tell you how I clean my makeup brushes because after trying different ways this is by far the easiest and most effective way I've found.

All I use is a small glass of water, Johnson's baby shampoo and a couple of pieces of kitchen roll. I start off by placing the brush into the water but making sure not to submerse the end completely as the can cause the brush with malt and lose some of the hairs. After this I put a small amount of the baby shampoo in the palm of my hand and gently swirl the brush around. I'll then use the kitchen roll to remove the remaining dirt of the brushes and of course remove it from my hand as it can get quite messy I'm not gonna lie to you. All that's left now if to let them dry. I simple lie them flat on a towel and leave them over night, however if you don't have that much time a couple of hours will do.

I hope my little run through on how I clean my makeup brushes helps you out because I know it took me a while to find the way that works for me, plus it doesn't break the bank!

Back to College Style

So it's been a while. A lot has happened since I last posted, I turned 17, sat my AS exams, went on holiday, was a bridesmaid at my sisters wedding and a lot in between! But now I'm back and staying.

I know a lot of people have already started back at school and college but I started my second and final year of college yesterday, so I thought I'd put together a few outfits with the help of Polyvore, to inspire you as well as myself to getting out of the door and ready of the long day ahead. Enjoy!

New Years Resolutions

Hello and welcome back. It's been a while since I've posted what with mock exams, Christmas, parties and honestly me being lazy!

As it's the new year I thought I'd give you a little update and talk about a few of my new years resolutions.

So, to start with I have finally had my braces taken off! After 4 years of going to my orthodontist and 1 year and 9 months they're off. It's been a long process but definitely been worth it as I now have lovely straight teeth and they were terrible before trust me. I've got new glasses that I actually like after 2 years of having ones that I hardly wore because the frames being too narrow.

But anyway, new years resolutions. Every year I set my self a couple of resolutions but normally by February I've broke them, but this year I'm determined to stick to them. So I decided to right them down in the hope that it'll help.

The first one is to read a book a month. I love to read but I can never find the time until I go on holiday. However once i'I've started one there's not much stopping me. I've already got some for the first three months and I'm up to chapter 9 on the first one, so that going good.

The next is to be healthier. Rather than saying I want to loose so much weight, I want to be healthier with a combination of eating better and exercising, because I get out of breath walking up two flights of stairs, trust me. I have set a goal for this one. It's July this year because my family and I will be going out to Cyprus for my sisters wedding so I'd like to be more body confident by then.

Another one is to make more of an effort. Whether it be with college work, my blog or even with spend more time with my family rather than being sat in my room scrolling through tumblr!

So that's just a few of my new years resolutions for 2014. I hope you've had a good start and the rest of the year is even better!

Winter Essentials

So I've not posted in a while, well since September and it's now nearly December! So in preparation of the winter months I thought I'd tell you about some of my essentials.

The first is a lip balm. I get extremely dry and chapped lips around this time of year, so I never leave the house without one. The one i'm using the most at the moment is the Maybelline Baby Lips in mint fresh. I helps to soft and moisturize your lips and it smells nice too!

The next is the Neutrgena visibly clear pink grapefruit daily scrub. I leaves my face feeling fresh and refreshed. Its great to help me wake up in a morning as i'm not the best person for getting up.

My final winter essential is a candle. There is nothing better than coming in from the cold, putting your pajamas on and lighting a candle. I'm not going to lie, I have quite a few but the ones I've been burning the most are the Wax Lyrical Jelly Bean ones in Toasted Marshmallow and Sizzling Cinnamon.

So there's a few of the things I can't go without during winter.

First Impressions - Maybelline Baby Lips

I've wanted to try the baby lips lip balms for a while now, however as I live in the UK it wasn't possible. So as soon As I found out they were being sold here I was on a mission to find them. And find them I did! To make it even better they were on a 3 for 1 offer. So naturally I bought all six.

They range from Hydrate; a clear balm that softens your lips and gives a natural look, to Cherry Me which nourishes and gives a slight colour to your lips and a good alternative to a lipstick.

So far so good for the Baby Lips but what do you think?
